District Jail Kiphire
About Us
The erstwhile Sub-jail Kiphire is situated some 1093.6133 yards away from the main town of Kiphire district headquarter occupying a total land area of 4 acres approximately. The Jail was formally inaugurated and made functional on the 20th of May 2010. The nomenclature of Sub-Jail was changed to that of District Jail through the Government of Nagaland Home Department Notification vide Order No. JL-62/Home/78(Pt-II) dated Kohima the 11th March 2015.
The construction of the Jail began way back in the early 1980’s. The structure of the Jail which was left unattended for considerable number of years was given only a facelift during inauguration.
The Jail premises have about 3 (three) barracks, 3(three) solitary cells, 1(one) store room and a legal aid clinic.
