Power and Duties

Our Primary role is to ensure safe custody and security of the inmates and to help create conducive atmosphere for their absorption in rehabilitative and reformative programs in order to bring them back in to the main stream as responsible citizens. To ensure timely production of UTPs in courts for speedy trial of their cases and to enforce proper discipline and good conduct among the staff and Jail inmates as well. Co-ordinating with the District administration, Judiciary, Police, Medical department and civil societies for a responsive and effective prison management remains a pivotal objective.
