3 | Assistant Jailor | 01 | 1. Chief Executive Officer of Jail.
2. General Administration and Supervision of all categories of staff under him. 3. Overall in-charge of the safe and secure custody of prisoners and smooth functioning of the Jail. 4. Charge of Ration, Dead Stock, Sanitary Articles and maintenance of its records. 5. Offence and punishment of Custodial staff and prisoners. 6. Maintenance of Staff Quarters and allotment in consultation with Superintendent. 7. Charge of UTPs’ admission and release and timely production to the court. 8. Matter relating to the Jail land area and its correspondence etc. 9. Charge of Staff Uniform, Furniture, prisoners’ blanket, etc and to maintain its record. 10. To prepare forth nightly return statistics and census of prisoners timely. 11. Maintenance of convicted prisoners’ record such as admission and release in consultation with the Superintendent. 12. He shall look after the cleanliness of Jail compound and its surroundings. 13. He shall be present at the time of opening and locking up of the Jail and to conduct Roll Call of custodial staff . 14. Any other work as and when assigned by the Deputy Superintendent. |
4 | Chief Head
Warder (Senior most Hd/Warder) |
00 | 1. Duty detailment of custodial staff in consultation with the Jailor and maintenance of Lock-Up book and Gate Register.
2. He will conduct roll Call weekly and will maintain its register. 3. Maintenance of strict discipline of custodial staff and security of the Jail in all respect. 4. Timely and proper checking of custodial staff daily and report to the Jailor about all kinds of absence, leave, sickness, etc. 5. Safe custody of lock and keys of Jail ward, cell, kitchen, etc. 6. To assist Assistant Jailor in charge of UTPs in time of admission and release and production to the court. |
5 | Head Warder | 04 | 1. In charge of all the warders on duty in its particular shift.
2. In charge of ward opening and lock up under the supervision of Chief Head Warder. 3. In charge of performance, cleanliness, smoothness and proper code of conduct of the custodial staff. 4. Maintenance of Jail Security. 5. To assist the Chief Head Warder whenever necessary. |
6 | Warder | 30 | 1. Sanitation of Male Ward -cells and its surrounding, prisoners cleanliness, discipline, security, etc.
2. Correct prisoner whenever needed and to report any danger relating to prisoners’ well being or security lapses to Head Warder. 3. To escorts Prisoners whenever necessary. |
7 | Female Warder | 07 | 1. She shall have the in time care of the female prisoner.
2. She should be present at the time of Ward opening and lock up. 3. To report any danger relating to prisoners’ well being to Jailor or Chief Head Warder. |
8 | L.D.A. Cum Computer Assistant | 01 | 1. Maintenance of Office files and record other than Prisoners’ file.
2. Maintenance of Cash book, A/ Roll, Bill register, GPF and Service Book of all the staff. 3. All the duplication and typing machine and office stationeries. 4. Preparation of correspondence and report i.e. receipt and dispatch. 5. Duty performance of Ministerial staff. |
9 | Office Peon | 01 | 1. i/c final dispatch of letter to respective head of office.
2. collection of message and correspondence from post office, Wireless etc. 3. i/c of submitting salary bills etc and withdrawal thereof. 4. to assist LDA/office whenever necessary. |
10 | Sweeper |

1. i/c of opening and closing of office.
2. cleanliness of office rooms, halls, toilets, corridors, tables, chairs etc within the Jail |
11 | Water Carrier | 3 + 2 (fixed paid) = 05 | 1. i/c to fetch water for the prisoners and to see the proper supply of water in the Jail.
2. Also clean the surrounding of the Jail compound when necessary. |
