Farewell Program

The Prison Department, Nagaland bid farewell to retiring Deputy Inspector General of Prisons, Shri. C. Motsuthung Yanthan, NJS, on 30/04/2025.

The farewell retirement programme was held at D.I.G. Chamber, Central Jail, Dimapur at 2:00 P.m with Shri. Yanshumthung Jungio, Assistant Jailor as the Chairperson. The programme started with invocation by Smti. Anshely Sumi, Counselor followed by speeches by different officers from the Department. Shri. Kushito Awomi, Rtd. A.I.G. Prisons who was his batch mate spoke about their experiences together working in the Department starting from their training at R.I.C.A. the president of the Prison Service Association Nagaland, Shri. Nikaho Yeptho, Superintendent, District Jail, Zunheboto on behalf of the Association citing the role of the Prison Service in the society, a short speech was delivered on behalf of Central Jail, Dimapur by Shri. Zubemo Ovung, Jailor, expressing gratitude to the retiring D.I.G for his contribution, work and services rendered to the Department during his entire service. The Chairman of the Welfare Fund Central Jail, Dimapur also spoke and presented him a present and wished him happy retirement life. Shri. Imti Aier, UDA also wished him a happy retirement life filled with fulfillment and success.

Speech on behalf of the Prison Department was delivered by the DG Prisons, Renchamo P. Kikon, IPS, highlighting the importance of leadership qualities and wished him good health and happy retirement life and Godspeed. After the speeches, presentation was made from different District Jails and Prison Headquarters, Nagaland. Speech was delivered by the outgoing officer thanking the Department and different District jails from all the co-operations during his entire service. The programme ended with a benediction by Smti. Abeny Yanthan, Counselor which was followed by Farewell lunch.
